My name is Ilir Morina, born and raised in Germany with roots from Kosovo. In 2011 I decided to quit everything and travel the whole world. If you think this looks like a crazy idea, then you should have seen the face of my parents when I told them that I actually want to do it for only 10 years. I believe at that moment they knew for sure that they had to cancel all their wedding plans. 

At that time, I already had 40 countries in my backpack when I thought to myself now or never, let’s go for the world. I bought a one-way ticket to Asia and said you never try, you never know. 

Once I stepped foot in country number 50, it already started to give me the taste of the travel drug. So I said, why not go for a 100! I reached the 100 quite sooner than I expected, so in my head, I was eager for more, even with all the sacrifices and challenges along the way. At 150, the goal to travel the whole world started to become more realistic, and now traveling actually became my daily life. 

Now in 2020,  my backpack and my soul are filled with 197 countries and countless stories, people, and memories.

Even though I used to be one of the worst Math students in my class, I still know that I have one more year to go. So summer 2021, will be the end and the beginning of something new. Because everything in life needs a deadline.
